How can we help?
Support goes to the people who build the app. There is no ticket queue and no phone tree.
We answer within two business days, usually sooner. If you are writing about a problem in the app, telling us your device model, your Android version and what you were doing when it happened saves us a round trip.
Common questions
How do I cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are billed by Google Play, not by us, so they are cancelled there. Open the Google Play app, tap your profile icon, then Payments and subscriptions, then Subscriptions, choose Binaural Beats Brainwaves and tap Cancel subscription. You keep access until the end of the period you already paid for. Uninstalling the app does not cancel a subscription.
I paid but the app still says I am on the free plan.
Open Settings in the app and use Restore purchases. That re-checks your Google Play account. If it still does not unlock, email us with the Google account you purchased with and we will sort it out.
Why do binaural beats need headphones?
A binaural beat is made from two slightly different tones, one in each ear. Your brain hears the difference between them as a third, slower beat. Through a speaker the two tones mix in the air before they reach you, so that third beat never forms. If you do not have headphones, use isochronic tones or ambient sounds instead. Both work through any speaker.
Does it keep playing when my screen is off?
Yes. Playback continues with the screen off and while you use other apps, and you can control it from the media notification. If audio stops when your phone locks, your device's battery optimization settings are usually the cause. Allowing the app to run in the background fixes it.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The beats and tones are generated on your device rather than streamed, and downloaded sounds play without a connection.
How do I set a sleep timer?
Open the timer from the player and choose a length. Everything playing fades out gently at the end rather than cutting off, and you can pick how long that fade takes.
How do I request my data, or ask for it to be deleted?
Email us at contact@mellotonestudios.com and say what you would like. The app has no user accounts and does not ask for your name, email address or phone number, so we may need an identifier from inside the app or your purchase details to find the data connected to your installation. Our privacy policy explains what we hold and what your rights are, and there is a separate consumer health data notice for Washington State residents.
Is the app available on iPhone?
Not yet. It is in development. Binaural Beats Brainwaves is on Google Play today.
